The KitchenAid™ KECC605BSS is a 30-inch, electric cooktop range with five radiant heat elements, a member of the Architect® Series II series. It features a premium ceramic-glass cooking surface with metal control knobs and a six-inch element for melting. Two are double-ring elements: six-inches and 10-inches.
The KitchenAid™ KECC605BSS provides variable power levels to make one stove-top worth of cooking. The range's front elements range from 1200 to 2500 watts, while the rear elements range from 700 watts (right) to 1200 as directed by electronic touch controls. This model also provides a handy "simmer" setting when all is well that ends up properly cooked.
Radiant heat does not require contact with sources of heat, such as liquids or air. Radiant heat is like sound: its comes in waves. On a radiant-heat cooktop - such as the KitchenAid™ KECC605B, heat works its magic by penetrating the cookware. The dish's capacity to absorb heat energy is crucial to even cooking. Make sure that your cookware is optimum for this environment.
Ceramic glass comes with some cleaning restrictions and cooking considerations. It is crucial to avoid cleaning the glass with steel wool, abrasive powder cleansers, chlorine bleach, rust remover or ammonia. A clean, wet cloth or sponge can do the trick with potential streaks or stains. In fact, a wet cloth (or sponge) may address light to moderate soiling. However, KitchenAid™ recommends that KECC605BSS users deploy a cooktop scraper or its Affresh® cooktop cleaner to remedy any other potential mishaps.
Some culinary creators install ovens beneath cooktops. The KitchenAid™ KECC605BSS is a 30-inch model, which requires that builders cut out oven dimensions of 28.5 inches (72.4 cm). Where there is heat, wood cabinets can discolour, delaminate and (in extreme cases) even burn. It is imperative to ensure - prior to installation - that wood cabinets meet UL and CSA International standards for maximum allowable wood temperatures of up to 194 degrees (Fahrenheit); 90 degrees Celsius. Always elaborate on installation plans before the dreams makes grim and costly work of reality.
The KitchenAid™ KECC605BSS 30-inch, electric cooktop range comes with the manufacturer's standard product warranty. From the date of original purchase, the KitchenAid™ KECC605BSS is backed for one year for defects in workmanship which require factory-specified parts and labour. "...When this appliance is operated and maintained according to instructions...," backs certain parts in years one through five: electric element; gas burners; solid-state touch control system parts; any cracks in the seal separating the ceramic glass cooktop and its porcelain edge; ceramic glass cracks caused by thermal shock; and, surface unit elements.

This 30-inch electric cooktop features five radiant elements that let you maximize the 30-inch cooking surface and provide the flexibility to cook more at one time. Multiple sizes, including two double-ring elements, let you more closely match element size and power to cookware for more precise cooking.
Two 10''/6'' Double-Ring Round Elements
Create two elements in one location. The inner rings are used like standard six-inch elements. The outer rings add size and power for large cookware. A simmer function works on both the inner and outer element.
Melt Function
Is available on one of the 6-inch elements. It takes away the guesswork of finding the ideal heat level for achieving a temperature that will melt chocolate or cheese without scorching.
Simmer Function
Automatically selects a low power level to help maintain a constant simmer without boiling over.
