Accessibility Policy

Canadian Appliance Source has prided itself on being a forerunner of accessible shopping. We believe all CAS customers should have the ability to shop in what mode is most comfortable and accessible to them. This includes, instore, online, over the phone, and via online chat.

Canadian Appliance Source is committed to ensuring equal access and participation for people with disabilities. We are committed to treating people with disabilities in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. We remain open to suggestions and improvements and aim to provide resolutions in a timely, business oriented manner. We will do so by removing and preventing barriers to accessibility and meeting our accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act and any other Accessibility Laws in our Provinces of operation.

Training

Canadian Appliance Source will provide training upon hire for all employees on accessibility laws and regulations as well as accessibility in the workplace and specifics to one's' role. We will continue to provide this training annually as well as record all training dates and participants.

Customers and shopping experience

Canadian Appliance Source offers the ability for our customers to shop online independently, online chat, email, in-store, and phone. This provides our customers with the convenience and the ability to shop in what mode is most comfortable and accessible to them.

While in-store, in office, or at our warehouses, CAS will ensure all accessibility standards are met such as accessible parking, entrances, and space for assistance devices. We will welcome support animals, assistance devices, and support persons. Employees of CAS reserve the right to inquire whether an animal is a service animal but will not ask about the nature of a disability.

Hiring

Canadian Appliance Source will provide accommodation at all stages in our hiring and recruitment process. If you require an accommodation or assistance, we will work with you to meet your needs or find alternatives. Canadian Appliance Source is an equal opportunity employer. We uphold and respect the requirements set forth in the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (2005) and any other Accessibility Laws in our Provinces of operation and
its associated standards and regulations. Should you require accommodation during the recruitment and hire process, please notify us in advance.

Interruption of services

If we are temporarily unable to offer any special facilities or services that assist customers with disabilities, we will immediately provide notice of this interruption and the anticipated time when these services will be resumed in addition to alternate facilities or services, if available.

Communication

Canadian Appliance Source shall provide, upon request, communication in an available format which takes into account a person’s disability.
