Selection: Variety in every way
It starts with the list of brands we sell, and it’s an impressive one: Samsung, LG, Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Bosch, Café, Frigidaire, Electrolux, JennAir, Monogram are all on it. Most (not all) retailers will have a similar cross-section of brands, but that’s about it. We go deeper.
We get to know the entire lineup of every brand we carry, and we make sure to stock multiple products that in a range of price points. We do this so everyone, regardless of their situation, has access to quality home appliances. This is important to us because, after 15 years of selling appliances, we’ve seen that going for something you know is quality can make such a difference in the day-to-day.
Consider a fridge for a moment. Think about what it looks like when it’s full. If you’re picturing an inglorious mess behind the fridge door, then you have the wrong fridge pour your lifestyle. The right fridge rarely, if ever, looks out of sorts when you peek inside because there’s enough room for everything. And with that room comes freedom to pack in just a bit more, maybe with something you’ve never tried before? And then, maybe when you try it, it’ll be so delicious that it becomes a staple in your house, and your kids will ask for it all the time and you’ll all be healthier because of it.
And what if you had a new oven to go along with your new fridge? Something that makes any kind of cooking possible. Maybe you’d try out a new technique you saw on a chef’s Instagram page or one of those cooking shows? Maybe you’ll get really good at it? And maybe your next dinner party will be the one your friends still talk about a year later?

Staff: Prepared for you
The training we put our people through is two-fold.
The first part of it is product-driven. They get to know what makes every home appliance brand special, what features are worth noting and the kinds of people who’d most benefit from them.
This is definitely the main part of the program, but we insist on it because very few home appliance retailers in Canada drill deeper down than we do on the products we sell. That’s not to say we know more about the appliances we sell than the company that made them, but it’s close.
The second part of the training is more creative, but equally important. Here, we teach our staff how to take you through the process of knowing you need an appliance, working through the features and benefits you want, finding a match & negotiating a price and payment structure that works for both sides of the transaction.
We also teach our people the value of attentiveness, fairness and clarity. That last one’s particularly important because most people who walk into our showroom know very little about home appliances other than that they need a new one. And considering how much money they’ll probably have to spend on their new appliance, a clear understanding of the value they’re getting for the price they’re paying is a good thing.
Maybe most important is what we teach our staff about the concept of “best brands” — a pretty common phrase in our business.
The reality is that “best brand” doesn’t exist. Best for who? Micro-influencers? The marketing team behind the brand? None of their opinions matter because they don’t live your life and they have no idea what you value most of all. We’ll know though, because we’ll ask you. We’ll talk to you, get to know you and figure out how your new appliance can, will and should impact your life. And then, when we have all that, we’ll be able to make brand, trim and style recommendations from a position of knowledge.
We’ll start by talking about you, your needs and what you value most in a home appliance. It could be performance. It could be style. It could be price, brand or volume when it’s running. Every answer’s the right answer.
From there, we’ll talk to you about the look and feel of the room your new home appliance is going to occupy, if for no other reason than the average size of an appliance. It’s absolutely going to be in your field of vision so you should be considering the effect it will have on the vibe you’re looking to achieve in the space.
With those two areas covered, we’ll then be able to show you a selection of home appliances that work for you. The options will cover a range of prices, but if you have a price range in mind, we can make our recommendations accordingly.
And when you eventually purchase your new home appliance or appliances, we’ll show you all the features and pay special attention to the ones that will make the biggest difference in your life so you use it correctly (whatever that means to you).

Both our corporate and consumer customers find our showroom super convenient. We’re part of Bayers Lake Business Park (one of the city’s top shopping destinations), in Clayton Park Ouest, just off the 102, which makes it easy to get here from essentially anywhere in Nova Scotia.
