THE home appliance authority in Hamilton/Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada

When home owners, renters, landlords, builders, contractors, superintendents and interior designers in Hamilton/Stoney Creek look for home appliances, they almost all start by visiting the Canadian Appliance Source showroom at 442 Millen Road, accessible via South Service Road between the Fruitland Road and Centennial Parkway North exits off the QEW.

In addition to having the most extensive selection of refrigerators, fridges, freezers ovens, stoves/ranges, microwave ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, washers, washing machines and dryers, the Hamilton/Stoney Creek Canadian Appliance Source showroom is also within proximity of some of Southern Ontario’s biggest and best names in home renovation and home decor, like Turkstra Lumber, Olympia Tile, Azule Kitchens, SupplyAll Trim and Doors, Norstar Windows, Royal Kitchen, CJ Mulholand Mattress Factory, Frank’s Glass & Mirror and Dulux Paints. It’s incredible how much you can get done around here in addition to picking up new home appliances.

But if your only focus is home appliances, this is the place for you for a number of reasons that we’ll get into in greater detail below.

Our selection is more than impressive.

When we talk about selection, we’re talking about the largest collection of brands, price points, trims and styles.

When you walk into our showroom, you’ll see names like Samsung, LG, Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Bosch, Café, Frigidaire, Electrolux, JennAir, Monogram and more well-represented along the aisles. But take a closer look and you’ll see where the Canadian Appliance Source difference really lies.

The first thing you’ll see is a range of prices that goes from noticeably high to surprisingly low. This is a conscious choice we make whenever we purchase new products for every Canadian Appliance Source showroom in Ontario and across Canada. Because while every home is different, they all need at least a few appliances. Sure, not every home is going to have a washing machine or a dryer or a microwave oven. But no home is without a fridge, an oven or a stove top, regardless of how much disposable income the residents of that home have. If someone needs an appliance, we want to be sure they can get something of quality that won’t stress them financially.

And keep in mind that a quality fridge or stove could, over time, actually help a family save money.

The first and most obvious way a family could see these savings realized is in their monthly utility bills. Besides doing right by Mother Nature and setting a good example for kids, an energy-efficient home appliance will most definitely impact monthly hydro costs in a positive way.

However, other cost savings could be realized as well — and they could be significant.

Consider how the cost of food could be impacted by a bigger fridge with more room for fruits, vegetables and batch-cooked meals. That extra space might encourage you to prepare more foods at home and visit restaurants less frequently. It’s easy to not think about spending ten dollars here and fifteen dollars there on take-out or eat-in dining, but when you look at your expenses at the end of the month, those visits add up quickly.

Now, add a versatile oven and stove/range to the extra room you have for food, and you suddenly have more ways to prepare food. You won’t need to waste your money on someone else prepping your meals because you could do everything yourself (and probably better). And with an affordable microwave oven in your kitchen, you could spend one day a week cooking and have meals for the week ready to go in your new fridge.

As for styles, if you consider how large the average home appliances are and how visually dominant they are in a room, the look matters. This is true for home owners and renters, but especially true for our commercial customers who are either building or renovating kitchens or laundry rooms. An appliance that doesn’t match the vision of a space will throw off the feel of that space, and make it virtually impossible to correct. This goes for look as well as size: too big makes the space feel awkward, too small makes it look sloppy or incomplete. And if you’re going to spend all that money and time refreshing a room, it’d be a shame to come up short because you couldn’t find the right appliance to fit. That never happens here because our team of curators doesn’t let it.

Our sales team is dialled in

We don’t hire just anyone. We look for three very specific qualities: a genuine love of home appliances, a genuine willingness to roll up their sleeves and learn everything there is to know about an appliance brand or product, and a genuine consideration of the fact that most home appliance shoppers need help choosing a home appliance because they’re not as savvy as they could be. Let’s look closer at all three.

Our people love home appliances and the possibilities they open for home owners and renters. This comes through in the questions they ask and the conversations that follow. For us, home appliances are more than machines that do things.

We already discussed how a good fridge/oven/microwave combination can change your relationship with food. Now consider what a well-designed dishwasher can do for you if you’re having people over for dinner. Right now, you may have to run three loads: after cooking, after dinner and the following morning. But the right dishwasher has room for everything in one load, which means less time away from your guests and a much easier next day. Our sales reps will ask you about how you like to live, and can recommend home appliances to fit your lifestyle.

And the recommendations they make will be rooted in knowledge because they take the time to acquire it. This is a major difference between shopping for home appliances at Canadian Appliance Source and shopping for them at other stores — and especially at big box stores. They don’t dive deep into the benefits and features of the appliances they sell because that’s not where those stores make their margins. Sure, they’ll know a bit about the appliances they stock, but when you’re looking down the barrel of several thousands of dollars spent, you’ll probably want a little more than a bit of info. You’ll want to know about every feature, and how those features benefit you and improve your life. You’ll get that here.

And when we give you the information, we’ll give it to you simply so it’s easy for you to understand. We can appreciate that you probably don’t know the ins and outs of every feature of a fridge, oven, stove/range, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine or dryer, so we break it down. We’ll explain the differences between each brand and trim, and what those differences will mean for you.

Our approach to “best brands” is honest

Many home appliance retailers will try to sell you a particular product under the guise of it being made by “the best brand.” We don’t do that because we don’t buy into the idea of “best brand.”

The best brand is the one that’s best for you, and that has nothing to do with the label on the outside and everything to do with the features on the inside. Maybe what you need is made by a well-known global manufacturer? Maybe it’s made by a boutique Canadian brand? Either way, you’ll find your best brand at Canadian Appliance Source.

Before you visit us, we definitely recommend having a look through our website and getting to know the brands and products we carry in the showroom. You’ll see what they look like, their major features and their prices, and you’ll get an idea of what you want on a general level. Then, when you come in, we’ll be able to expand further and answer any questions you have about the home appliances you’re considering.

What else should you expect from a visit to Canadian Appliance Source?

You can expect to have zero issues parking. Our lot is big, free and rarely very busy. You can expect the space to browse without a sales rep harassing you. When you engage a Canadian Appliance Source team member, you can expect the conversation to be about you first, what you value in a home appliance and how you see yourself using it. And as we already said, you can expect to clearly understand everything they tell you so you can make an informed choice.

If you’ve been here before (or to any other Canadian Appliance Source location), we’ll already have some information about you, your home and your needs. But if things have changed, please do let us know so we can update our data and make more relevant recommendations.

We look forward to seeing you in the showroom.
