Home appliance shoppers in Whitby are drawn to Canadian Appliance Source
The word is out in Whitby, Ontario. It has been for some time. No other home appliance retailer in Whitby, Oshawa, Ajax, Pickering or the surrounding areas can offer the selection you’ll find at our 150 Taunton Rd. West showroom. And no home appliance retailer can match the experience you’ll have here because of the way our hand-picked team approaches customers, customer service and doing right by every person who walks through our showroom door.
The draw starts with selection. Lots of selection.
Home appliance shopping comes down to value: the features you need and want at a price that makes sense. The challenge in our industry is that everyone wants different features and everyone’s values are slightly different, even if they appear to be the same.
For example, two people want a fridge with two doors, a lower ice box and a water/ice dispenser. One hosts a lot of dinner parties and wants extra room for wine and leftovers, while the other is a mom with four kids and needs the extra room for lunches. The dinner party host is also a climatologist and so very much wants his fridge to be energy efficient. As for Mom, she’s looking for the best price.
We’ll have something for both these people, and probably more than one option. We can do that because of our long-standing relationships with the clear leaders in home appliance manufacturing. You’ll find Samsung, LG, Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Bosch, Café, Frigidaire, Electrolux, JennAir, Monogram and more in our showroom and here on our website. And you’ll find a range of price points, styles and trims under those brand umbrellas.
The prices you’ll find will range from extremely affordable to “who’s buying that and can I see their home?” while the styles will be as diverse as the day is long. And we make sure to keep that consistent across brands as much as we can because (a) the vibe of a kitchen or laundry room is a real thing, and the right home appliance will improve it, and (b) brand affinity is a real thing, and if looking at a brand you love every time you prepare food or do the laundry makes you feel good, then we want you to be able to have that feeling as much as possible.
The other thing about style we’re cognizant of is how a home appliance in the wrong style could very negatively impact the space it lives in. Fridges, freezers, ovens, stoves/ranges, microwave ovens, cooktops, dishwashers, washers, washing machines and dryers aren’t small. You’ll notice them the moment you walk into a kitchen or laundry room. They might be too big or too small for the space they’re in, or the exterior colour clashes with the room colour. Or you might only notice the issue after you have the appliance in your home: it’s a loud dryer and it’s close to a TV room or the washing machine cycles take too long to keep up with a big family.
You won’t have those problems at Canadian Appliance Source because our selection is big enough to give you exactly what you want and need.
The draw continues with customer experience
Most home appliance shoppers aren’t home appliance experts. The problem we’ve seen at so many other home appliance retailers is that they speak to their customers like they’re experts. They throw around big words and foreign metrics and assume that the customer has the faintest idea what they’re saying. It’s not the approach we take because it shows that while the sales team may have read (or memorized) the product info, they didn’t take the time to really understand it. We do, and you can feel it.
When we talk to you about a home appliance or a home appliance brand, we focus on you, what you need and what features will give you the benefits you’re looking for from a fridge, oven, stove/range, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine and/or dryer.
Here’s how we prepare for your visit:
2. We review past transactions to look for trends. We talked earlier about the dinner party host and the mom. These were both real customers multiple times over. We know this because we check our customer records regularly. So now, when we meet someone with similar needs and values, we can be prepared with recommendations that have a good chance of being well-received.
3.We train our sales teams to talk in simple, understandable language when they explain the features and benefits of a home appliance to a customer. Any other way leaves a customer confused and feeling like their time was wasted ? and this leads to a no-sale, which is of no help to anyone. We teach our staff that treating a customer like a person and not a selling opportunity is a win/win for everybody.
When you come into the store, the first thing we’ll do is ask you about what you value overall, and especially what you value in a home appliance. We’ll ask you about your lifestyle, how you think a fridge, oven, stove/range, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine and/or dryer helps you maintain that lifestyle, and what your current home appliance might be missing.
The next thing we’ll talk about with you is the space your appliance is going to occupy. We’ll talk about size, vibe and any future plans you might have for it.
Finally, we’ll talk about price and what makes sense for you.
What we won’t talk about is the “best brand on the market” because we fully reject the concept. The only thing that matters is what the “best brand for you” is. It might be a Canadian-made household name. It might be a boutique European manufacturer. Either works as long as they work for you.
If you’ve been to our Whitby location previously (or any Canadian Appliance Source location across Canada really), we’ll have a bit of information about you already. But if things in your life have changed, please let us know when you come in so we can factor that into our initial home appliance recommendations.
And since you’re already on our website, this is a good time to have a look at our selection. It’s all here, and each product in our inventory is accompanied by a feature list, a picture and a price so you can start to get an idea of what you might want from a fridge, oven, stove/range, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine and/or dryer. When you come into our 150 Taunton Rd. West showroom, you’ll be in a much better position to help us help you.
And our showroom location is a big help
Our showroom at 150 Taunton Road West is five minutes from the Highway 412 Taunton Rd. exit and six minutes from the 407 Baldwin Street South exit, so we’re easy to get to from all over Whitby, Oshawa, Ajax, Pickering and the eastern GTA. This is obviously convenient for anyone who lives in the area, but it’s equally convenient for commercial customers (contractors, builders and interior designers). And both sets of customers can get a lot of to-do’s done on a trip here.
We’re down the street from CG Lighting Whitby and up the road from a Canadian Tire; our commercial customers appreciate both. They also appreciate the quick-serve food options in the area they can hit up on the way to or from a job site. Panago Pizza is right next door, Jimmy Guaco’s Burritos is across the street and McDonald’s, Firehouse Subs and Mary Brown’s are nice and close.
Our residential customers appreciate all these options too, but they also like the sit-down places in the area where they can grab a bite and a think about their home appliance options. Restaurants in this vein include State & Main Kitchen Bar, Panera, Cora’s, Swiss Chalet and Tangerine Asian Cuisine (which has some of the most delicious dishes anywhere in the Whitby, Oshawa, Ajax and Pickering area).
But above anything else, this is why home appliance shoppers in Whitby are drawn to Canadian Appliance Source:
Trust. It all comes down to trust.
People in Whitby, Oshawa, Ajax, Pickering and the eastern GTA trust Canadian Appliance Source to have the best selection of home appliances, offer the best home appliance shopping experience, give them the best price for a quality home appliance and make them feel welcome in the showroom. It’s why, for almost 15 years, home appliance shoppers across Canada have sought out Canadian Appliance Source showrooms, have visited this website and have told their friends, family members and colleagues who are also in the market for home appliances to check out Canadian Appliance Source.
We’ll have the perfect appliance for your home. See you soon!
