The Canadian Appliance Source showroom in Barrie, Ontario, is always busy
That’s because most home appliance shoppers in Barrie put Canadian Appliance Source on their list of appliance retailers to visit.
They do this because, for almost a decade and a half, Canadian Appliance Source has built and solidified a stellar reputation in the industry.
That reputation is built on three things: selection, experience and approach.
Most home appliance retailers can deliver on one of the three. Some can do two, but most of those can’t deliver them affordably, so it’s a non-starter for most people anyway.
We deliver all three to people who own homes, rent homes, decorate homes, build homes, fix homes and sell homes.
We deliver all three in the commercial world too; for factory canteens, office break rooms, catering kitchens, motel laundry rooms, military bases and banquet halls.
And we deliver consistently. That’s why our showroom is always busy.
A three-tiered selection
When people come to a place that has “appliance source” in the name, they expect us to have sourced home appliances from all the best manufacturers, leaving no stone unturned when looking for new, quality home appliance manufacturers doing interesting things in the category.
Their expectations are always met.
You’ll find fridges, refrigerators, freezers, ovens, stoves/ranges, microwave ovens, dishwashers, washers, washing machines and dryers in our Barrie, Ontario, showroom come from Samsung, LG, Maytag, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Bosch, Café, Frigidaire, Electrolux, JennAir, Monogram and more. That brand selection is tier 1.
Now, you can find that wide of a brand selection at another selection-heavy appliance retailer, but those appliance retailers tend to be boutiques with an approach that caters to people with money. They have the brand selection, but it’s only the high-end stuff.
That leads us to tier 2, which is price point. Under every brand we carry is a range of products covering a range of prices.
A sizeable percentage of people who come into our store weren’t planning on being here because nobody can plan for a home appliance going on the fritz. They’re here because they have to be here. They’re spending money they don’t want to be spending. They’re a bit scared to be parting with so much money so suddenly. They’re nervous about making the right decision in an area they probably know very little about (home appliances). But most of all, they’re feeling frustrated that the things they buy can just work like they’re supposed to work.
We make sure they have quality options from quality brands, at prices more people than not can afford.
Tier 3 is style, and it’s where the big box stores can’t compete because metallic façades and simple white go with everything else they sell in their store.
That “everything else” is important because it’s where most of those big box stores make their money. Home appliances are an after-thought to them: a way to recoup losses on other feature products that don’t sell well. So their approach is to embrace the generic, price it well and push the brands that offer sales incentives, regardless of what their products look like or the blandness of their offerings.
We work hard to curate a range of looks that are representative of Canadians’ diverse stylistic sensibilities. You’ll find pieces for everything from country kitchens to condo kitchens. You’ll find pieces for muted rooms and environments bursting with colour and originality.
And as for functionality, you’ll find just as wide of a range. We have fridges for family folks and single people; ovens and stoves/ranges for home chefs and occasional cooks; and dishwashers for occasional washes and twice-a-day use. The range of abilities are just as wide in microwave ovens, washing machines and dishwashers.
Whatever you want. Whatever you need. Whatever you can afford. Whatever’s going to work for right now and whatever’s going to work for later when you change things up, you’ll find it at Canadian Appliance Source.
A two-pronged approach to customer experience
Product knowledge and the ability to relate it to a customer’s real life. On both sides of that coin, Canadian Appliance Source is a clear leader.
The product knowledge piece is key for us. We collect everything we can about every product we sell. We expect our sales teams to read, understand and internalize the information; and they do because they can see home appliances beyond the functions they perform and to the life benefits they can provide.
We train our sales teams to think about the real-life benefits of home appliances, and how to identify brand-specific features that deliver these benefits.
This is the relatable piece and it’s something we stress every day. Being one hundred percent versed on the ins and outs of the home appliances in our showroom does no good if we can’t then convey that information to customers in a way they’ll understand.
This starts with us getting a solid understanding of you. We’ll ask you about your values in general and what you value in a home appliance. And in the decade and a half we’ve been doing this, we’ve heard just about everything and we can tell you that what every customer values in a home appliance is unique in some way. This uniqueness will help us make sound recommendations that match your sensibilities.
Another topic we’ll broach with you to pinpoint our recommendations is the room your new home appliance is going to live in.
We’ll talk about colour and size, vibe, usage and future plans for it. It’s all very valuable and interesting to think about as you make home appliance decisions.
Of course, if you’ve previously bought anything from a Canadian Appliance Source showroom anywhere in Canada, we’ll have some information about you already. But we encourage you to update us if things have changed since the last time we saw you.
Put together, the two sides of the customer experience piece (knowledge and how to deliver it) is what keeps Canadian Appliance Source customers coming back again and again.
A single-minded approach
“Best brand in the world” means nothing.
Think about it: none of the bloggers, reviewers and so-called product experts have any idea what you need from a home appliance, so who cares what they say, right? Ultimately, only opinion matters: yours.
We respect that, which is why we don’t push the “best brand narrative. The “best brand for you” is what matters. If it happens to be a recognizable label then great. If it’s a boutique manufacturer from Europe who shares your overall ethos for everything, that’s just as good. If you’re happy with your home appliance, it’s improving your life the way you want it to and it’s not giving you trouble, that works.
Getting here is easy
Our Barrie showroom is located at 468 Bayfield St just across from Georgian Mall and near East Bayfield Park. The store serves Barrie, Innisfil, Orillia, Collingwood, Bradford, West Gwillimbury and the surrounding areas.
Residential and commercial customers equally appreciate how much is around the store. If all that home appliance shopping gets you thinking about eating, the options in the immediate area are quite something. Fast food options include McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Pizza Pizza and Burger King. As for sit-down options, you’ll find a Kelsey’s, an East Side Mario’s and Aji Sai, one of Barrie’s best sushi bars.
But our commercial customers will also find tremendous value in the neighbourhood we’re in. We’re surrounded by other retailers in the home building and home renovation space that make a trip here more productive than just home appliances. These include but are not limited to Irvine Carpet One Floor & Home, United Home Hardware Lumber Building Centre and Canadian Tire.
And leaving here with a new home appliance feels great
You’ll have had your pick of brands from around the world. You’ll have had a great experience where you feel like a person and not a potential customer. You’ll have a firm understanding of what you bought and how it’s going to improve your life. And you’ll get the fridge, oven, stove/range, microwave oven, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer that makes sense for you.
We look forward to serving you.
