We live in a rural area, about an hour's drive from the nearest appliance dealer, and needed a new range (stove/oven). Our existing appliance was thirty years old and we are in our seventies. It was a daunting prospect to begin the search for a new appliance, because of the many choices available and the drastically different technology from the old unit to which we were accustomed. We wished to transition to an induction stove because of efficiency but again, the options and different technology were certainly confusing.
