Description & Features
The Moffat MER247CWBS wall oven is a smart choice for homeowners who want full‑size performance in a compact 24‑inch built‑in design. With a streamlined width that fits smaller kitchens and condo layouts, this oven still delivers generous capacity so you can roast a family‑sized chicken, bake multiple trays of cookies, or prepare a full casserole dinner without feeling constrained by space. Its clean, modern styling integrates easily with a wide range of cabinetry and finishes, making it an easy upgrade for both renovations and new installations.

What sets the MER247CWBS apart from many standard 24‑inch wall ovens is its focus on even, reliable cooking performance and user‑friendly control. A powerful multi‑pass bake and broil system is engineered to distribute heat consistently from edge to edge, helping reduce hot and cold spots so your roasts, baked goods, and one‑pan meals come out more uniform from rack to rack. Paired with precise electronic temperature regulation, this design gives you the confidence to tackle everything from delicate pastries to high‑heat broiling without constant checking and rotating of pans.

Another standout advantage is the oven’s thoughtfully designed interior, which maximizes usable space within its 24‑inch width. The cavity is laid out to accommodate full‑size cookware more comfortably than many compact models, with multiple rack positions that let you customize the height for taller Dutch ovens or multiple shallow baking sheets at once. This efficient use of space means you don’t have to buy special small pans just to work with a narrower wall oven, making the transition from a larger range much easier.

Daily convenience and cleanup are also central to the Moffat MER247CWBS experience. The smooth, easy‑wipe interior surfaces and removable racks simplify maintenance after big meals, while the clear viewing window and bright interior lighting let you monitor progress without opening the door and losing heat. Intuitive front‑mounted controls keep all key functions within easy reach, and the overall design emphasizes durability and straightforward operation over unnecessary complexity. For households that want a compact built‑in oven that still feels like a serious cooking appliance, the Moffat MER247CWBS wall oven offers a compelling blend of space‑saving width, generous capacity, and dependable everyday performance.

Thomas Lang Moffat was born in Crossford, Fife, Scotland in 1836 and emigrated to Canada with his family when he was 5 years old.  He started an iron and brass castings company in Dundas, Ontario with a Mr. McCallum. Eventually, he moved to Owen Sound where he got a job as a moulder at the firm of William Kennedy & Sons.  In 1882, he moved to Markdale, Ontario where he founded a general engineering and machine shop, T.L. Moffat and Sons.  They produced mill machinery, steam engines, pulleys, plows, mangles, and various ornamental castings in iron and brass.

In 1893, Moffat built a  factory on Dennison Avenue, west of Jane, using stones from the banks of the Humber River in Toronto, Ontario. The company's products became highly regarded in local markets and abroad, in fact the Moffat company is credited with inventing the first electric ranges for the domestic market, becoming world leaders in this area.

The Moffat brand continues to be committed to providing economical everyday household appliances for Canadian consumers.
