The timers can also be used as a standard kitchen timer. Safety played a large part in the design on the NIT5065UC cooktop. This cooktop features a child lock, SafeStart, anti-overheat system, heat indicator, and clean lock. The child lock feature offers two incredible safety features: first it can be set to prevent the cooktop from accidentally being turned on; it will also lock the temperature settings in place if the cooktop is already in use. SafeStart ensures the elements cannot be activated is proper cookware is not on the element; this means if anything other than metal cookware is placed on top of the elements.
