The GE Profile PHP900DMBB 30-inch black ceramic-glass frameless cooktop installs flush with your countertop. Its smooth, flat surfaces make it easy to clean, so you keep your elegant cooktop looking as radiant as the day you installed it.
 
This cooktop is powered by induction cooking. Induction cooking uses a ceramic plate with an electromagnetic coil beneath it, which possesses an electric current, to generate a fluctuating magnetic field. Due to the magnetic field, no heat is released to the burner until the field is completed with compatible conductor, like a stainless steel pan. The heat is directed right into the metal of the pan, heating the pan evenly without causing the cooktop surface to become hot.
