Description & Features
The Moffat MTX22EBMRWW electric dryer is a reliable, no‑nonsense laundry solution designed for households that want solid performance, generous capacity, and simple controls without unnecessary complexity. With a Canadian‑rated 6.2 Cu. Ft. capacity, it comfortably handles family‑sized loads, towels, and bedding, helping you cut down on the number of cycles you run each week while still fitting neatly into a standard 27.09" wide laundry space. This makes it an excellent choice for busy homes that need a full‑size dryer but don’t have room for oversized commercial units. Inside, a durable aluminized steel drum is built to stand up to everyday use, while the vented design efficiently removes moisture to leave clothes feeling thoroughly dry and ready to wear.

One of the standout advantages of the MTX22EBMRWW is its long venting capability, which gives you more flexibility in where you place your laundry pair compared with many basic dryers that require short, straight vent runs. This is especially helpful in older homes, basement installations, or layouts where the exterior wall is not directly behind the appliance. Another key feature is the straightforward rotary electromechanical control system: large, easy‑to‑grip knobs make it simple for every member of the household to choose the right setting at a glance, without scrolling through digital menus or dealing with touchscreens that can fail over time. You still get practical options, including dedicated Cottons and Casuals temperature settings, an Air Fluff option for items that need refreshing without heat, and a Timed Dry cycle that can be set in convenient increments up to 80 minutes, giving you more flexibility than many entry‑level models.

To help protect your fabrics, the Moffat MTX22EBMRWW offers multiple dryness levels—such as Optimum Dry, More Dry, and Less Dry—so you can fine‑tune results for everything from heavy denim to delicate casual wear. A reversible door adds installation flexibility, allowing you to choose the swing direction that best suits your laundry room layout, while the matching top‑load washer option makes it easy to create a coordinated, space‑efficient pair. Backed by a 1‑year parts and labour warranty, this dryer delivers dependable everyday performance, user‑friendly operation, and thoughtful venting and capacity advantages that set it apart from many similarly priced models.

Thomas Lang Moffat was born in Crossford, Fife, Scotland in 1836 and emigrated to Canada with his family when he was 5 years old.  He started an iron and brass castings company in Dundas, Ontario with a Mr. McCallum. Eventually, he moved to Owen Sound where he got a job as a moulder at the firm of William Kennedy & Sons.  In 1882, he moved to Markdale, Ontario where he founded a general engineering and machine shop, T.L. Moffat and Sons.  They produced mill machinery, steam engines, pulleys, plows, mangles, and various ornamental castings in iron and brass.

In 1893, Moffat built a  factory on Dennison Avenue, west of Jane, using stones from the banks of the Humber River in Toronto, Ontario. The company's products became highly regarded in local markets and abroad, in fact the Moffat company is credited with inventing the first electric ranges for the domestic market, becoming world leaders in this area.

The Moffat brand continues to be committed to providing economical everyday household appliances for Canadian consumers.
